Locking two different items?

I think it would be nice if there was a tool that could have two seperate drawings and lock them together in animation so when you choose to make them move from point A to point B, they move together. It could even be nice if you could lock more than just two together also.

Example 1: My latest "THANKSGIVING08"

I put hats on my characters that had already been shared. But I had to move the character and the hats seperatly, so if the paths are not just right it looks like the hats are dancing on the character's heads.

Example 2: The walking body:

If we could have a locking tool that we decide where they lock together and if that point of locking can be a rotating point also. This would mean you can draw a body, arms, legs, and a head all seperate but put them together in an animation locking them together but still be able to let the limbs bend. And since they are all locked together you can select them and make them move across the page together. This would help with not having to make 2 or 3 different animations, just to make something walk across the screen.

I was just thinking of the locking option too( like a pin holding limbs together, so the limbs move together) I totally agree. Kind of like the guiness commercials....brilliant!!!

Would be cool. I can see that Example 1 might be doable here. and I remember a post about Grouping within the New drawings area. This would be very much like that only in the composition area.

In 3D software Example 2 is called "Parenting". Arm is the parent of the hand. you can move the hand with out moving the arm, but move the arm and the hand follows in the same orientation it was in respective to the arm. This is done even if the Hand and arm are not "touching". in the software I use you can NOT change the Parent/child relationship within a single composition.

Maybe Aaron will pop in and let us know how far out there the idea is? lol.
